Honoring Paducah Police Sergeant Ryan Hudson

As the City of Paducah mourns the unexpected passing of Paducah Police Sergeant Ryan Hudson, we want to share ways the community can memorialize his life and legacy.

Sgt. Hudson’s police cruiser is placed in the parking lot directly across from the Paducah Police Department facility at 1400 Broadway. Through Saturday, August 23, the community can stop by to pay respects or leave flowers or notes of remembrance.

Visitation will be Friday, August 22 from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Paducah Tilghman High School Gymnasium located at 2400 Washington Street. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 23 at 11 a.m. at Heartland Worship Center located at 4777 Alben Barkley Drive.

Sgt Hudson began his career with the Paducah Police Department in 2015. Over the next ten years, Sgt. Hudson held various roles including patrol officer, DARE instructor, member of the SWAT team, training officer, and honor guard. Sgt. Hudson was promoted to sergeant in May of this year.

Sgt. Hudson passed away on August 12 due to complications from an underlying cardiac condition. His death is classified as a line of duty death since Sgt. Hudson was a supervisor during the stressful and tragic shooting incident that occurred August 9 on Boyd Street.
