Beginning Thursday, July 11, no through traffic will be permitted on Minnich Avenue in Paducah. The contractor working for the City of Paducah, Jim Smith Contracting, will be replacing two storm sewer pipes near 4030 Minnich Avenue. Since the pipes cross the road, no lanes of traffic will be open in the work zone. Traffic will need to exit Minnich Avenue either toward Friedman Lane or toward North 36th Street.
This work is expected to take less than one week, weather permitting. Crews will be replacing two storm sewer pipes with one larger elliptical pipe. This work includes constructing concrete headwalls which will reduce the erosion problems in that area.
After the storm sewer work settles, new pavement will be installed in the work area.
Please use caution, watch for the work crews, and respect the traffic control devices.
The City of Paducah maintains more than 220 miles of streets.
